What We Love In Redmond

What We Love In Redmond
About Photo

On the Menu: Where to Eat

Redmond, of all of our Eastside communities, has had the most dramatic change to the downtown core in the last five years. Hello light rail.

Coming right into the center of downtown, the small shops and centers have been replaced by mixed use apartment and condo buildings with every imaginable cuisine. The old Tack and feed store is gone and one by one some of the classics are saying goodbye

Family owned El Toreodor is leaving after serving the community it’s handmade chips and salsa and sizzling platters of enchiladas and fajitas for over 30 years. That’s gives popular Matador a boost, but they are adults only fare.

Other great options are the Tipsy Cow for hamburger delights, Prime for fantastic steaks and a well priced favorite food items HH every day, and Woodblock, for ‘New American’ fare and cool vibe.

Our beloved Hoffman’s Bakery also deserves a shout out. Displaced back when Urban development came to Kirkland, the small and well-loved local bakery moved to Redmond, doubled in size and grew up to be big Hoffman’s bakery. The classic Princess Torte cake still reigns, but the other cakes and pastry line has more than doubled. They now also offer lunch and breakfast items.
