On the Menu: Where to Eat

All time favorite ‘best spot’ on so many levels is Carmines’ on Old Main Street in Bellevue. While the dining room bustles and who doesn’t love a tuxedoed waiter?? The place to see and be seen is the bar area. The dozen or so bar tables have many of the same faces on a weekend night. Great place to come early, sit at the bar and have white table cloth service for some of the best pasta in the city. Fantastic traditional cocktails and beautiful wine selection. Reservations are a must.

Bis on Main has new owners and are getting rave reviews. Small and intimate with a strong locals following for its depth of quality American fare.

On Bellevue Way in the towers there is a place for every palette. Multiple casual options or restaurants for HH, after work gathering or bigger groups. Joey’s is very popular, as is Dukes.

Dumplings are all the rage and Din Thai Fung took over the old (huge) Maggiano’s space and it is always packed. The window of chefs making our meals by hand is impressive, as is the quality and service for such mass production.

Forever views and fine dining? Not to be missed is Ascend Steak and Sushi. Miles of western views and lovely ambiance make this one for out of town guests, special occasions, or just because.

Another classic Steak House great is El Gaucho. Just blocks from Bellevue way, it’s fine dining and the perfect steak from by gone eras. Classic Caesar salad or peach flambé table side? Yes, it’s worth the show. When you are just in the mood for a tuxedo and a white towel on his arm to bring you the perfect dirty martini.
